I wouldnt take matthews answer as “sarcastic or condescending”. I think we as Christians do people a disservice when we try to “blame them” for their not believing as we do. Usually, when Christians do this, it’s more of a defense mechanism to shore up our own belief and Faith than to really find out why the other person doesn’t believe. I find listening and considering what they say, then encouraging them to believe thru their doubts anyway does better. I can’t make or argue anyone into having belief in God or Faith towards Jesus. It’s between that person and the “God who is there” and waiting for them to receive. True Faith is a gift, not a reward or achievement. Just my 2 cents. -barabbas
